The Original Flame is a locally owned & operated fireplace boutique located in Peterborough, ON & serving the Kawartha Lakes region. Our clients can rely on our expertise to guide them through the process of designing a fireplace that will be the heart of their home.
Michele Kadwell-Chalmers is the owner of The Original Flame, a business that she built on her own from day one. After working in the hearth industry for 14 years, Michele felt there was a need for a different type of fireplace store, one that would allow women, as well as men, to shop comfortably for one of the main focal points in their homes, while at the same time getting their technical questions answered. Michele is WETT certified, a Peterborough native and a third generation business owner. In her spare time Michele enjoys yoga, graphite drawing, walking in nature and spending time with her grandson.
David Eyre is a recent addition to The Original Flame’s team, joining us in the summer of 2014, and was born and raised in Peterborough. David enjoys his role as a fireplace consultant and has learned a great deal about the hearth industry in a short time.
On his time off, David enjoys spending time with his daughter and wife, and loves gathering around a fire with his family and friends.
